Abstract

Starting from a survey of the bucolic code in Menina e Moça, this text aims to expose how the main work of Bernardim Ribeiro illustrates the process of disaggregation of literary genres which designes the novel as a genre in formation and, thus, defined by unstable boundaries. An understanding of the modern sense of parody, claimed by Bakhtin (1975) and Hutcheon (1985), allows us to suggest the presence of the mecanism of appropriation and change of established codes in the novel of Bernardim Ribeiro.

  • Marta Marecos Duarte

    Marta Marecos Duarte é investigadora de doutoramento no Centro de Literatura Portuguesa da Universidade de Coimbra. Interessando-se pela literatura dos séculos XVI, XVII e XVIII, prepara atualmente uma tese sobre o poeta tardo-barroco Francisco de Pina e Melo, estudando as suas relações com o contexto cultural da Ilustração portuguesa e europeia. Em 2010 defendeu, na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa, uma dissertação de mestrado sobre o tema do amor e do desejo na Menina e Moça de Bernardim Ribeiro, texto que editou recentemente (2015).
